A boat launch provides access for sailing, canoeing and fishing. There are no lakes or major rivers in the Wilderness. The site is staffed by a campground host. One of the favorite spots for many is near Moonshine Flats. Two access points will get you on the trail to the summit. If you are using Moonshine flats as a water source, it would be a good idea to bring some purifying tablets or a water filter. The site also has a barrier- free flush toilet as well as several accessible camp and picnic sites. The site is staffed by a full time campground host. Willaby Campground is located one mile southeast of the Pacific Ranger District, Quinault Office on the South Shore of Lake Quinault. The Mulkey Trail Shelter is reached in 4.0 miles. The Colonel Bob Wilderness now contains a total of 11,961 acres and is managed by the Forest Service. The lakeside campsites are situated just inside the hardwood forest canopy which helps provide shelter on warm or windy days.
